Healthy Kick in the Butt.

February 16, 2011

So like many people, I am trying to get my butt in gear to a healthier life style! I must say, I have been doing pretty good lately when it comes to eating habits. I never was one to indulge in a load of junk food, but when it came to things I did love, such as chips, I could go a little over board. I’m talking like could almost eat a whole bag and not feel ashamed. Well that’s in the past my friends. I hardly touch chips now. When I do get a little craving, I buy those 100 calorie small bags. Usually of Smartfood, because that’s my fav and they are white cheesy heaven in a bag!

When it comes to working out, I have been doing a lot better with it. I have been going back to the gym at least 2-3 times a week, and when I am not there I try to use my EA sports Active for the Wii. I’m looking forward to Spring/Summer so I can actually get back out on my bike. I bought a bike well over a year ago and never used it once. It has just been sitting in the storage closet being sad and not too loved. This Spring it will get some serious loving! I use to ride my bike EVERY day in my childhood. Not sure where I got out of the habit, but I will be picking it up.

Other days I find it hard to get my self motivated, I think we all do. Ways to get myself motivated is simply by getting a good start to my day. Whether its eating a delicious healthy breakfast and listening to some upbeat tunes, or some times it just takes my boyfriend to tell me to get out of bed and go (HA, that doesn’t always work either!) Some days it could just be the weather that makes me not want to get out and do too much. I have been getting out of that habit too, because I find if I can push myself to go out on those days then I can accomplish a lot more. Other means of inspiration could also be my writing. Just simply writing this blog is inspiring me and getting me pumped to go back to the gym, or for a walk, or just dancing around my living room (dancing happens quite frequently, ask my boy friend haha!)

Some other things I plan on trying are more classes. With being a member at Goodlife, there are a ton of classes you can try. Some that are really intriguing to me are Spin class, BodyPump, Zumba, and Yoga. I’ve heard many good things about them all. I have tried Yoga a few times and really enjoyed it. I know it’s a challenge for things such as Spin Class, like keeping up and not wanting to fall over and die. But I keep telling myself “Just think, if you do it and accomplish it, think how good you’ll feel”

I think by accomplishing my goal of living a healthier lifestyle, it truly brings some inner peace to my life.

And that’s a pretty damn good feeling to have.

Holy cow, has it really been this long since I have last wrote anything? I’ve always had a problem with starting things like this and forgetting about it for¬† awhile. I am trying now to keep on track! I really don’t have much to say right now because my stomach is hungry. When my stomach is hungry it’s hard for me to focus. Me like food ūüôā

Ok, so before I leave, has any one ever watched the “G.I. Joe PSAs”? They took the old G.I. Joe cartoon and dubbed there voices in. And in a nut shell, it’s HILARIOUS! Some of you may not find it as hilarious as me, but I get the teary-eye’s from laughing so hard.

Here is the “Best of G.I. Joe PSAs”

Ch-Ch-Ch-Check it out.

So today’s blog is brought to you by: Music

There is SO many bands out there that I love and adore, but i’m going to share with you all my top three have been listening to a lot lately on the ol’ ipod while driving around in the nice weather.

There music is creative, zaney, different and really out there. There newest album, “Congratulations”, has been playing over and over again in my car. If you haven’t checked this album out yet, do so! Flash Delirium is one of my fav songs.

2) Vampire Weekend

Seriously, why did¬†I not hear of these guys earlier? When I first heard the bands name, I automatically thought they were going to be some cheesy pop-punk band following the Vampire trend. Sweet jesus I was wrong! I have Vampire Weekends newest album on my ipod, “Contra”, and I am pretty sure I love every song on it equally. Cousins, Horchata, Giving up the Gun, etc. All extremely fun songs!

3) Gorillaz

Ooh, how I love the Gorillaz. When I first heard of this virtual band being created, I was instantly intrigued. It may be because I use to have a huge crush on Damon Albarn, lead singer of Blur and creator of Gorillaz. But it doesn’t even matter! When there first album came out, self-titled ‘Gorillaz’, I was instantly hooked. The song Clint Eastwood was awesome. The newest album, ‘Plastic Beach’, is SO good. I can say that I listen to it almost every day when i’m in the car.

I could definitely go on and on, but I must go get ready to do the backshift at work, yucky.

It’s time for me to be like Tom and Cruise…

So, I followed the current trends. Yes indeed I jumped on the blog bandwagon! My sister,, told me I should get one so here I am! Taa-daa! I don’t know how much I will update it but I am hoping to keep to updated and active!

So it’s 11:20pm on a Friday night. A half asleep boyfriend sits beside me while I type this, and we have Kenny VS. Spenny on in the background. I wonder when the cameras are not rolling, what kind of guys they are? They definitely make me laugh with there¬†ridiculous¬†and hilarious challenges they have however. ¬†Apparently¬†Kenny and Spenny have inspired other Countries to follow there steps. Such as Ed Vs. Spencer, the¬†British¬†version. And also Elton VS. Simon, the German version. I definitely have to check them out. *Note to self*

This is a short blog for tonight, but I am tired and drinking wine. It’s hard to type and drink at the same time ūüėČ Until next time…

Stay classy San Diego.
